On Wednesday, 29th March 2023, the Volta Regional Department of Gender organised a Community Dialogue to engage community stakeholders on ways to strengthen and sustain activities of Community Watch Committees. The Dialogue which was held at Mafi-Wute in the Central Tongu District brought together three (3) communities, namely Mafi-Wute, Mafi-Dadoboe and Mafi-Tsawla.

The engagement focused on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH), Parent-Child Communication, the Right of the Child, and Parental Responsibilities.

The dialogue session also considered how to strengthen and sustain activities of the Watch Committees in the various communities. Participants had the opportunity to raise for discussion critical issues confronting them as communities.

Present at the Dialogue included Mr. Thywill Eyra Kpe, the Regional Director for Department of Gender; Togbe Akliku Ahorney II, Dufia for Mafi-Dadoboe/Wute; the Queen Mother of Mafi-Dadoboe/Wute; District Public Health Nurses; Madam Charity Boko, the Gender Desk Officer for the District; and the Representative of the Department of Social Welfare.
