CHIEFS AND QUEENS FROM DZODZE TRADITIONAL AREA PAID A COURTESY CALL ON HON. VOLTA REGIONAL MINISTER
Eighteen Chiefs and Queens from the Dzodze Traditional Area on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa at the Residency of the Regional Co-ordinating Council, Ho.
The spokesperson of the team Torgbui Dey III Chief of Apetepe, in an address, praised the Hon. Minister for his distinguished and exemplary leadership in the region over the past two years, driven by the visionary leadership of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana.
The Chiefs and Queens acknowledged the good work of government in bringing about development as showcased in the Regional Town Hall Meeting held in June 2019.
They also commended the Hon. Regional Minister for his role in maintaining the relative peace and tranquillity in the region. Notably, his efforts in bringing lasting resolution and peace to the Nkonya-Alavanyo dispute were acknowledged.
The chiefs and queens then pledged their full support for government’s development agenda in the region.
They were also impressed with the performance of the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, Mr. Anthony Avorgbedor.
The Chiefs and Queens used the visit to appeal to government to ensure the following:

Construction of modern Market at Dzodze,

Construction of Aflao-Ho main road,

Extension of Dzodze Town Roads including Dzodze–Kuli – Ehi–Penyi–Ehi Roads

Tarring of Roads from Xevi to Afiadenyigba Junction

More jobs for the Youth

Full operationalisation of the Akanu Border Project.
The Traditional Authority, finally, presented a citation, Kente cloth and wrist beads to the Hon. Regional Minister.
The Hon. Regional Minister responding to the address of the Chiefs and Queens indicated he was humbled by the visit of the Traditional Authority, and their acknowledgement of his distinguished and exemplary leadership.
He expressed his appreciation and that of government to the Traditional Authority for acknowledging the good work of government in the region as showcased in the Regional Town Hall Meeting.
Furthermore, the Hon. Regional Minister expressed his appreciation to the Traditional Authority for their endorsement of the work of the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive. He therefore entreated them to continue to support him as he strived to bring development to the area.
With regards to the requests in their address, the Hon. Regional Minister indicated that work on Ho-Denu Road would soon begin in the year.
Similarly, he indicated that the Dzodze Town Roads and the surrounding roads would be worked on.
Concernimg the full operationalisation of the Akanu Border, the Hon. Regional Minister said it was in the plan of government to operationalise the Border.
He agreed with the Chiefs and Queens that Dzodze deserved a modern market. Therefore, he indicated that the request would be taken up for the necessary action.
The Hon. Regional Minister seized the opportunity to inform the Traditional Authority that Dzodze township world benefit from a water project.
He also appealed to the Traditional Authority to resolve any misunderstandings and conflicts among them and work together for the establishment of a Traditional Council.
He concluded by expressing his appreciation to the Traditional Authority for the honour done him through the presentation made to him.
