On Thursday, 2nd June 2022 the Department of Gender with funding support from UNFPA held a one-day training for Heads of Vocational Institutions and Artisanal Groups on Child Marriage and Sexual and Gender- Based Violence at the Adult Education Colledge, Tsito in the Volta Region.

The aim of the programme was to discuss best approaches to addressing the above issues and practical ways of providing ASRH and SGBV information to members of the various institutions and associations.

Participants in attendance were from various dressmakers’ associations, Garages associations, carpenters’ associations, soya processing associations, wood carvers’ associations, vocational and technical institutions in six districts namely Afadjato South, South Dayi, North Dayi, Central Tongu, Akatsi North districts and Ho Municipal Assembly.

Dignitaries present for the program were, Mrs. Thywill Eyra Kpe the Regional Director for the Department of Gender, Miss. Victoria Fato the UNFPA Focal Person from the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), Henreich Aidam the representative from the Ghana Health Service and Mr. Atsu Awayevoo also from the VRCC.
