The Volta Regional Environmental Health Officer Delivers A Lecture Held At The University Of Health And Allied Sciences (UHAS)
On the 14th of December 2022, the Regional Environmental Health Officer (REHO), Ms. Stella Kumedzro facilitated a seminar organized for Level 500 Medical Students of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).
The Regional Environmental Health Officer, Ms. Stella Kumedzro, delivered a lecture on the topic “Environmental Health”. The lecture was necessitated by the realization of Management of the Medical School that the students ought to be exposed to all divisions of the Environmental Health Unit and the activities they undertake, Environmental Health is a branch of health that the students must be abreast with.
The Lecture covered areas such as Waste Management, Basic Requirement for Healthy Environment, Role of Environmental Health Worker in Health Promotion, Policy Environment and Legal Framework, and Bottlenecks in Environmental Health Service Delivery. The lecture commenced at 9:30 am and ended at 12:45 noon. It had the participation of fifty-three (53) medical students. At the end of the lecture, the students expressed contentment about and pleaded with the Dean of the Medical School to allocate more contact hours to the lecture
