The Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, has asked the church to step up the fight against moral decadence among the youth of the country

He said over the years, the church had made useful contributions to the socio-economic and spiritual growth of citizens and the rising canker was an area where they could step up their efforts.

Speaking at the Southern Zone National Witness Convention of the Apostolic Church-Ghana in Ho, Dr Letsa advised the youth to be law abiding and disciplined and work hard to enable them to succeed in their endeavours.

He assured the church that the government was committed to developing every part of the country without discrimination.

Caution to humanity

The President of the Apostolic Church, Apostle P. O. Mankralo, said although the world was faced with the clamour for material things, righteous men would be lifted in these last days.

He charged the congregation to return to their various places of residence with renewed spirits to lift Jesus Christ’s name wherever they found themselves to bring the needed transformation to society.

In a sermon, the General Secretary of the church, Apostle Alex Kwadjo Ofosu, urged the congregation to place their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ in times of adversity or celebration.

Convention

The five-day convention, on the theme: “If I be lifted up”, was also used to ordain new pastors into the church.

It was an opportunity for brisk business too, as traders descended on the Ho Jubilee Park, the venue for the convention, from Kumasi, Takoradi and Accra to market their varied wares, mainly food items.
