Rt Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Bagbin, Pays a Courtesy Call on the Hon. Volta Regional Minister
The Rt Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Bagbin has paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa at the Residency of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, Ho.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker’s visit was reciprocity of a courtesy call Dr. Letsa paid on him over the weekend at the hotel to welcome him into the Regional Capital, Ho.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker and Hon. Members of Parliament are participating in 2021 Post-Budget Presentation Workshop at the Volta Serene Hotel, Ho.
Mr. Bagbin and Dr. Letsa had a fruitful interaction during which Dr. Letsa expressed his admiration for Mr. Bagbin and how Mr. Bagbin continues to show commitment towards the development of the country following his assumption of office as the Rt. Hon. Speaker.
Dr. Letsa expressed how honoured and privileged the Region was for being the first to be visited by Mr. Bagbin outside the Greater Accra on an official engagement. In particular, Dr. Letsa stated how honoured he was to host the Rt. Hon. Speaker on his first day of work in the Region after having been sworn into office as the Hon. Regional Minister.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker and the Hon. Regional Minister underscored the need for politics to be centred on development and not divisiveness.
The Hon. Regional Minister indicated that the Region would foster a close collaboration with Parliament and Rt. Hon. Speaker’s Office to promote the Region’s development.
He entreated the Rt. Hon. Speaker to feel free and visit the Region anytime, for the Region was ever ready to welcome him.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker, on his part, indicated that he had a very special love for the Volta Region.
He acknowledged that the Region could boast of highly educated and qualified human resource base which was also evident in the output and contributions of Hon. Members of Parliament from the Region.
On the development of the Region, Mr. Bagbin remarked that the potentials in tourism could be harnessed for development.
