Officials of the Regional Department of Social Welfare led by the Regional Director, Mrs. Stella Mawutor Agbezuhlor, on the 26^th of August 2022 visited a foster mother to twin sisters in the Ho municipality.

The visit was in line with the Department’s vision of having a socially developed Ghana where the disadvantaged, vulnerable, excluded and persons with disabilities are integrated into the mainstream of development.

During the visit, they assessed the conditions of the twins for support. The twin sisters, five years old, lost their mother at birth and had no family member responsible enough for their upkeep. One of the twins is, unfortunately, suffering from cerebral palsy.

The foster mother who has been taking care of the sisters since infancy needs financial support to enable her continue with the provision of care for the children. The Department, however, has taken steps to involve some NGOs to support the Department provide some form of assistance to the twins.
