Department Of Gender – 2022 Gender Equality Clinic
The Department of Gender, Volta Region participated in the 2022 Gender Equality Clinic organized by the Department of Gender, Headquarters under the auspices of the MoGCSP with the support of the UNFPA. The program took place at the Sunlodge Hotel, Tesano-Accra, from 6th July, 2022 to 9th July, 2022 and brought together mentees from the sixteen regions in the country.
Volta Region was represented by a staff of the Department, Miss. Eunice Tamakloe and five other mentees from the Ho municipality, Central Tongu and Akatsi North Districts. They were Bernice Tugbenyo, Afeti Ethel Yorm, Kingsley Kove, Joshua Twum Barima and Believe Kuagbenu.
The program brought together 70 girls and 30 boys between the ages of 12-19 years.
The purpose of the program was to sensitize the Adolescents on gender issues, their sexual and reproductive health rights, sexual and gender-based violence, among others. The program was also to make them Ambassadors for change in their regions.
Resource persons were drawn from the Ghana Health Service, Department of Gender, WILDAF Ghana and the Ghana Education Service.
