Department Of Children Hold Regional Child Protection Committee Meeting
The Regional Child Protection Committee has the mandate to see to the welfare and protection of children in the Region. The Committee holds its meetings once in every quarter. The main function of the Committees is to spearhead the implementation of the Child and Family Welfare Policy (CFWP) across the Regions. The meeting usually focused on taking updates from its members on activities they have carried out during the quarter under review.
The meeting was held on 9th September, 2021 at the VRCC Conference room. The committee comprised thirty (30) stakeholders
The stakeholders called on Department of Children the coordinator of the meeting to often liaise with District Assemblies and give them presentation on Child Protection issues so that the Assemblies can be abreast with problems faced by children within our communities and thereby strategize to help address the problems.
