Department Of Children Conducts Youth Survey About Important Issues In Ghana Today And Concerns Of Ghana’s Future
This survey was conducted in the by the department of children Volta Region in collaboration with child right international, A Non-governmental Organization. The exercised covered three Districts in the Region namely Ho Municipal, Adaklu Waya District and Agortime Ziape. The survey took the department one week to complete from 29th March to 2nd April, 2021.
The aim of the survey is to seek the views from students on the following issues in the next 10 years.
- The Educational sector in Ghana especially the free senior high school
- Agriculture sector
- Their career choices that is if the courses they are offering now would help them achieved such careers
- The direction the country is going
Strangely, more than half of the children interviewed noted that the country is moving in a wrong direction and even added that if they had opportunity they would leave the country for greener pastures. The survey result from children is a wakeup call for leaders to involve children especially the youth in decisions making regarding coming out with developmental plans or agenda.
