On Wednesday the 26th day of March 2021, Mr. Andrew Hawrylyszyn, Director of Gyeta Wildlife Reserve was at the Hon. Regional Minister’s Office, Ho to discuss with the Hon. Regional Minister and his team; the Regional Economic Planning Officer, Regional Director of Ghana Tourism Authority, and the Regional Lands Officer; his company’s intention to establish a Safari project in the North Tongu District and the need for a large tract of land.

Mr. Hawrylyszyn stated the project was to be known as the Gyeta Wildlife Reserve and needed a vast land with no human settlements in sight.

He was accompanied by the Hon. District Chief Executive for North Tongu District, Mr. Collins Arku, who intimidated that the district has about 65,000 acres of land situated out of the main town with no human settlement.

During discussions, the Hon. Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, urged the investor to call on the Hon. Minister for Lands and Natural Resources to hold discussions with him.

He also urged the investor to put into writing the company’s intentions which were discussed with him.

Dr. Letsa assured the company of the support of the Co-ordinating Council in order to see the project come into fruition.

Finally, he wished the company well and expressed the hope that the project would commence sooner than expected.
